12/08/01. Mountain Aire Music Series,
opened for Edie Carey , Kalispell, MT
We were flying along at 70 mph and then all of a sudden, we weren't. My trusty Subaru stopped for the night along the highway and we were faced with the task of finding a ride down to the show for us and all our gear within an hour and a half. So I started running up the highway to use a phone and a very very nice man was plowing his driveway and to cut a long story short got us and our gear to the gig on time. Whew!!! So I played a few songs to open up for Edie Carey: a very funny and talented entertainer- and it went well, though it wasn't exactly a magical performance. I look forward to being well relaxed for the next one.
10/18/01. The Eureka Book Co., Eureka, MT
My first ever solo concert! I've played lots of clubs and other places, but this was everyone in the room watching and listening. No distractions - no eating, no drinking, no talking... Yeah, I was pretty nervous at first, but then all that nervous energy was transformed into a 'performance high'. I admit it, I am now addicted. Speaking of addictions, Linda confessed her addiction to Dr. Pepper and an unnamed person in the audience also admitted her dependence on Dr. Pepper. Two Dr. Pepper junkies in one small town; hmmmmm.....Well, I love this place anyway. Thanks everybody, for coming out!
10/4/01. The Northern Lights, Polebridge, MT
The peaks of Glacier Park in the background set off Shane and Heaven getting married in a small and very special wedding ceremony. The food was amazing and what else can I say? This is an amazing place, and it's not just because of the scenery. Congratulations Shane and Heaven.
9/22/01. The Pagan Fair @ Woodland Park, Kalispell, MT
This was a really neat scene. It was a beautiful sunny day and the grass was green and the people were colorful. Yes, here in northwest Montana there are some very interesting people who just want to live life to the fullest and are content to let others do the same. I felt right at home, especially at this moment when people are so focused on all the negative stuff going on, like Muslim/Arab bashing in this country and supporting a war effort that basically amounts to Muslim bashing in the Middle East. Why can't we just LIVE and let LIVE?
8/26/01. The Lincoln County Fair, Eureka, MT
This was a pretty good show, although using someone else's PA often makes getting your sound the way you like it more difficult than usual. I never did get my sound here, but I had a good time anyways. The Cranbrook Girl's Bugle Core was a surreal and refreshing intermission. 20 or so high school girls with bugles and drums is a guaranteed good time.
8/24/01. The Northern Lights, Polebridge,MT
This was a fun super laid back show. Playing on the porch looking at the setting sun with sunglasses while people played volleyball and a small flock of kids danced around like birds making bird noises...
it's a lot of fun to play when there are dancing children trying to be birds...
I hope to experience this again someday soon. The Northern Lights is a great place. Great people and great food near some of the greatest senery in the world - Glacier Park. Great! What more could you ask for?
